Begin your journey learning Chinese with a fun matching game with an accurate animated Chinese face. University research demonstrated that this talking face improves language understanding and learning. This matching game uses the spoken words, images, and written words of the 100 most common nouns in Mandarin Chinese.

This fun matching game is played like other matching games. Touch one of the games to play, and a set of tiles will appear. The goal is to match the different types of tiles, and move through more and more challenging levels.

The game reinforces language learning for both students who are native speakers of Chinese and children and adults learning Chinese as a new language. The multi-sensory experience with speech, images and written words engages the kids and adults in a fun activity while simultaneously sharpening their language understanding and reading skill.

Bao is a 3D animated character who can read you text with extraordinarily accurate mouth and face movements and convincing emotions. Bao is accurate transformation of the famous animated Baldi, who has been around for several decades in research, tutoring deaf and hard of hearing children, serving as a language teacher for autistic kids, and instructing children and adults in learning how to speak new languages.

You can control the loudness of Bao’s speech, his emotion, and facial and disk cues to make the task easier or more difficult.
-To change Bao and his speech, touch the Settings button.
-In the Settings view, you can change the audio volume.
-You can show Bao in a standard Outside View or an Inside View that shows the tongue and inside the mouth (this view is valuable for language learning).
-You can change Bao’s emotions by varying the sliders for six basic emotions.
-You can change several emotions at the same time to give an emotion mixture.
-Once you make the changes, touch the back button and choose your game.
