For the music featured on “Songs Around The World”, the Playing for Change (PFC) organization recorded musicians outdoors in cities and townships worldwide. They traveled from post-Katrina New Orleans to post-apartheid South Africa, from the remote beauty of the Himalayas to the religiously diverse dwellings of Jerusalem. The musicians’ talents are captured in myriad environments – under the sun and beneath the streetlights; in public parks, plazas, and promenades; in doorways, on cobblestone streets, amid hilly pueblos. Their performances were subsequently combined, letting the musicians collaborate – albeit separated by hundreds or even thousands of miles. The Playing For Change (PFC) app lets you keep up with all the music, videos, photos, news and other fans like you!
