A Faster Loading FreshApps
A few weeks ago, an article that featured FreshApps made it to the home page of Digg.com. Naturally, quite a bit of traffic flowed through this site and on to FreshApps (~20K uniques within 30 minutes). Being that FreshApps is a WordPress site and has many additional database queries, this traffic brought FreshApps to its knees. It simply couldn’t handle the “Digg Effect“.
This is simply unacceptable. So, we have put our nerdy computer science minds together and come up with a killer caching scheme that should improve overall performance of FreshApps.com. We are still testing it out (so bear with us), but it seems to be working very well.
This is all gearing up for our Official Launch (which is scheduled for this Summer) where we intend to get a plethora of traffic. With this new caching scheme, we are more prepared than ever.
So stay tuned, we have some new features to come that will blow your socks off!
Stay Fresh,
~Brandon
