Description
ContactWord is based on a simple idea and a growing necessity.
Every day we need to create and remember more and more complex and robust passwords for the important websites we often use (banks, email, etc.) and we struggle to remember all of them or even generating good ones.
Storing a lot of passwords in a “wallet” behind another password still present a weak point of entry. Password rules like the first letter of the lyrics of a song, or character substitutions, still requires a certain degree of memorization.
ContactWord allow the user to perform a simple gesture (like selection an easy to remember contact from the address book, and from it, combined with the unique ID of the iPhone, generate a strong password.
Every time the user select that contact on that phone, the same password is generated.
No password is ever stored on the device.
If someone happens to use the same contact info on a different phone, a completely different password will be generated.
If someone steal your phone, the number of permutations required to find your password you use can be quite high (find the contact you used, find the right length and character combination) depending how good the user is at obfuscating the contact.
The app UI is kept simple to be fast and easy to use, while providing in one single page a clear indication of all the steps to follow.
Again, the basic idea is to use something easy to remember to generate a complex and robust password.
